the PROJECT

A JEWEL IN THE CROWN

THE VISION

Gargarreo Regional Botanic Gardens will be the premier regional botanic gardens destination in Australia and be the jewel in the crown of the Campaspe region. It will be bold, it will be beautiful and it will exhibit best practice from a design, sustainability and indigenous plantings perspective.

OPPORTUNITIES

To build and connect the community through providing a beautiful space for recreation, celebration and education with a focus on our indigenous past and on sustainable nature.

PROJECT SUMMARY

Gargarro will be an exemplar regional botanic garden. Gargarro's design reflects the dry landscapes of the Campaspe region, presents an interplay between geometric water features and indigenous flora, and houses all these elements in a native garden setting.

Gargarro will have a cultural overlay through its spaces for events and the way it will showcase local produce and host activities for the Campaspe community and other visitors. The region's rich history will be evident through the stories shared and on display here and this unique setting will make future generations proud to visit and cherish Gargarro.
